Project Manager - Digital Banking & Payments Transformation / 100% Remote / (6 Month Contract)
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of a high-visibility, in-flight transformation initiative focused on modernizing the small business digital banking experience. This role will lead a strategic payments and cash management program that will replace a legacy banking platform and deliver an enhanced digital experience for small business customers.
This is a hands-on delivery role requiring a Project Manager who can quickly establish credibility, assess project health, manage stakeholders, and drive execution across business and technology teams within a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment.
Important: This is a true Project Manager role focused on delivery, execution, governance, and stakeholder management. Candidates with backgrounds primarily in Program Management, PMO leadership, or portfolio management without hands-on project delivery experience may not be the best fit.
REQUIRED SKILLS
5+ years of Project Management experience leading complex initiatives.
Financial Services Project Delivery
Banking, credit union, fintech, payments, treasury management, cash management, digital banking project experience.
Understanding of compliance, security, operational, and regulatory considerations.
Hybrid Agile/Waterfall Leadership
Experience leading projects that combine Agile delivery teams with traditional project governance.
Strong Scrum team oversight and dependency management capabilities.
In-Flight Project Takeover & Stakeholder Management
Proven ability to inherit active projects, assess project health quickly, identify risks and gaps, and maintain delivery momentum.
Strong executive communication and stakeholder alignment skills.

The Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining delivery momentum on an active project while ensuring alignment across business, technology, operations, compliance, and vendor teams.
Key Responsibilities
Quickly assess project scope, status, risks, dependencies, and overall health upon engagement.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, and status reporting.
Lead delivery across multiple business and technology workstreams.
Drive project governance, executive reporting, and stakeholder communications.
Manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and escalations.
Coordinate business, operations, technology, compliance, and vendor teams.
Support project execution in a hybrid Agile and Waterfall environment.
Oversee Scrum team execution, sprint activities, and dependency management.
Build consensus and drive decisions across multiple stakeholder groups.
Remove blockers and ensure project objectives stay aligned with business priorities.
Ensure implementation plans account for compliance, operational readiness, and customer experience considerations.
Hybrid Agile / Waterfall Delivery Expertise
Experience leading initiatives that blend Agile delivery teams with traditional project governance structures.
Strong Scrum team oversight and delivery management experience.
Ability to manage cross-team dependencies, schedules, and executive reporting in hybrid delivery environments.
In-Flight Project Takeover & Stakeholder Management
Experience inheriting active projects and rapidly assessing project health.
Ability to identify gaps, risks, and dependencies while maintaining delivery momentum.
Strong executive communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience building trust and driving alignment across business and technology organizations.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
