Job Description
The Visual Inspection and Packaging Technician performs vial inspection and packaging activities for finished products to ensure they consistently meet quality and regulatory specifications. This role focuses on visual inspection, accurate labeling, careful packaging, and proper documentation within a controlled cleanroom environment.
Responsibilities
Complete required training modules to obtain and maintain certification as a vial inspector.
Complete training modules on proper gowning techniques for safe entry to and exit from designated cleanroom and controlled areas.
Visually inspect vials, labels, and packaged finished goods to ensure they meet all quality and specification requirements.
Perform manual labeling and packaging of finished goods according to established specifications when automated machinery is unavailable or not in use.
Follow good documentation practices when recording, maintaining, and organizing batch records, forms, documents, and logbooks for assigned areas.
Ensure proper labeling, handling, and disposal of hazardous waste generated on the packaging floor in accordance with procedures.
Assist other team members in manufacturing and related areas as needed to support production and quality goals.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-ordered work area, including tools and inspection/packaging machines.
Adhere to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO rules and regulations related to the position.
Perform any other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor to support safe and efficient operations.
Essential Skills
At least 1 year of visual inspection experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
Demonstrated experience in inspection and packaging, ideally within medical device or pharmaceutical settings.
Strong attention to detail for accurate visual inspection of vials, labels, and packaging.
Good oral and written communication skills to follow procedures and document work clearly.
Effective teamwork and problem-solving skills to collaborate with colleagues and address issues promptly.
Initiative and manual dexterity to perform precise, hands-on inspection and packaging tasks.
Ability to stand continuously for two or more hours while performing inspection and packaging duties.
Ability to work safely and operate all material moving equipment in a safe and compliant manner.
Basic math skills to support counting, verification, and documentation tasks.
Ability and willingness to work overtime as necessary to meet production needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
Experience working in a cleanroom or controlled environment is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO regulations.
Comfort working with hazardous materials and following proper waste disposal procedures.
Ability to follow detailed SOPs and training modules with high accuracy and consistency.

Work Environment
This role operates in a cleanroom and controlled manufacturing environment with strict gowning requirements and adherence to SOPs, GMP, and ISO standards. Work involves standing for extended periods, performing visual inspections, and handling vials, labels, and packaging materials. The position follows fixed shifts: first shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, second shift from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, and third shift from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, with the possibility of overtime based on production needs. The environment includes the use of inspection and packaging machinery, manual material handling, and safe operation of material moving equipment, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and proper hazardous waste handling.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
