Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate
Job Description
The Shipping and Receiving Associate supports daily warehouse operations by managing outbound shipments and inbound receipts through the MAS 100 ERP system. This role ensures orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time, while maintaining inventory integrity and a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. The position operates on a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and offers the opportunity to grow into a technician role.
Responsibilities
Conduct shipping activities in the MAS 100 ERP system, including picking products, labeling, preparing Certificates of Conformance (COC), Bills of Lading (BOL), stretch wrapping pallets, and coordinating shipments according to established routing guidelines.
Operate forklifts and reach trucks safely to move, load, and unload materials and products as required for shipping and receiving.
Physically handle boxes weighing from 1 to 60 pounds to support all shipping and receiving operations.
Review Open Order and Purchase Order reports daily to ensure customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements documented in customer memo notes within the MAS 100 ERP system, including product identification, packaging, carrier selection, routing, and billing requirements.
Receive products into the MAS 100 ERP system and create vendor payment vouchers to support accurate purchasing and accounts payable processes.
Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system and bin locations, and participate in or conduct annual physical inventory counts.
Perform inventory control tasks such as cycle counts, order selection, and stock replenishment to keep inventory levels accurate and organized.
Pick and pack orders efficiently and accurately to meet customer expectations and shipping deadlines.
Maintain a high level of organization, housekeeping, and cleanliness in the warehouse to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Follow and support the company's Safety Policy and Objectives, promoting safe work practices in all warehouse activities.
Follow and support the company's Quality Policy and Objectives, ensuring that all shipping and receiving processes meet quality standards.
Collaborate with team members and other departments as needed to resolve issues related to orders, shipments, and inventory.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of experience in a distribution environment.
At least 2 years of shipping and receiving experience.
At least 2 years of experience operating a forklift.
Hands-on experience with reach trucks.
Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically MAS 100, for shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
Ability to pick, pack, and order select accurately in a warehouse environment.
Experience with inventory control, including cycle counts and physical inventory.
Ability to safely lift and handle boxes weighing from 1 to 60 pounds.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and compliance with customer-specific requirements.
Ability to follow safety and quality policies and procedures.
Strong organizational skills to maintain clean and orderly warehouse areas.
Work Environment
The work environment is a temperature-controlled, organized, and clean warehouse setting designed to support safe and efficient operations. Team members work a consistent Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role involves regular use of forklifts, reach trucks, and the MAS 100 ERP system for shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northbrook, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
