Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to provide on-site financial leadership for a long-term contract assignment in Tacoma, Washington. This role will support daily accounting activities, strengthen reporting accuracy, and help keep month-end deliverables on schedule during a contract coverage period. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, partnering closely with local operations teams, and turning detailed financial data into clear, reliable reporting.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day accounting function for the Tacoma, Washington facility, ensuring records are complete, accurate, and current.

Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger review to support timely financial results.

Partner with site leadership to collect, verify, and interpret operational revenue and expense information for financial reporting.

Prepare and review monthly financial statements and site-level reports, highlighting trends, variances, and items requiring follow-up.

Examine customer and operational agreements to confirm that revenue recognition and expense activity align with contractual terms.

Create and maintain detailed Excel-based models and trackers to monitor revenue, costs, and contract performance.

Support audit readiness by organizing financial documentation, validating balances, and assisting with inquiries tied to financial statement audits.

Work across systems such as NetSuite, Concur, pricing tools, and operational platforms to reconcile data and improve reporting reliability. Requirements

7+ years of accounting experience, including responsibility for financial reporting and month-end close.

Demonstrated success in an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, or similar leadership-level accounting role.

Strong knowledge of general ledger management, journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.

Experience analyzing revenues and applying revenue recognition principles in an operational or contract-driven environment.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to build and maintain detailed financial tracking and analysis tools.

Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully on-site role while managing competing priorities.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to gather information from cross-functional operational teams.

Experience supporting financial statement audits and maintaining accurate, well-documented accounting records.

The salary range for this position is $38/hour to $44/hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
