The Cloud Platforms & Architectures Department (CPAD) is the center-of-excellence for cloud computing and cloud-related technologies within The Aerospace Corporation. CPAD's overall goal is to stay at the forefront of cloud technology to enable our customers to effectively

this technology to fulfill their mission needs. CPAD's Cloud Architecture & Strategy (CAS) team works with customers to help them deploy cloud systems that are well architected to meet their operational requirements and strategic goals. We are looking for an

to lead this team of CAS Cloud Solution Architects to advise customers on how to properly architect, migrate, and evolve cloud systems.

Manage theCloud Architecture & StrategySection within CPAD comprised of talentedCloud SolutionsArchitects. This teamisresponsible foradvising customers onhow todesign, implement, andmaintaincloud architectures and strategies that are resilient, performant, efficient, secure, and cost effective.
Build a talented organizationofCloudSolutionsArchitectsthrough recruiting, hiring, and on-boardingnew staff
Develop staff through performance management, evaluation, coaching,andmentoring
Promote an innovative culture,maintainteam morale, andmonitorindividual well-being and job satisfaction
Manage overall capabilities of the section,paying attention to health/status and adapting capabilities as customer needs evolve
Obtain, manage, and tailorcloudtechnologywork assignments to staff skillsets
Ensure the technical quality of staff work products
Acquirenecessary resources andmake inter-organizationalconnections to enable staff toexecute work efficiently
Interface with program office and government customers,other corporate support organizations,andother ETG departments
Collaborate withclouddepartment management andmanagement in other departments (e.g., cybersecurity, data, AI)
Execute business administration functions (e.g., budget, resource allocation)
In addition to leadership and management functions, act as a technical leader and contributor:
Advise customers on best practices to design, implement, andmaintaincloud architectures and strategies that are resilient, performant, efficient, secure, and cost effective
Researchcutting edgecloud technologies and develop proto@types todemonstrateand benchmarktheircapabilities
Review customer cloud architectures and provide feedback on areas ofimprovement
Participate in deep technical discussions with government, contractors, and cloud vendors to ensure solutions are designed for successful deploymentin cloud
Perform Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs) on multiple cloud solutions to help government space customers make more informed decisions
Provide guidance on how toproperly planand execute cloud migrations
What You Need to be Successful - Engineering Manager - Cloud Computing Architecture
Minimum
Bachelor's degree in Computer Scienceor a relatedSTEMfield
Atleast6years of experienceworking with cloudsystems andrelatedtechnologies
Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, coordinating complex technical tasks among team members, and translating customer needs intoviableinstructions forengineers
Demonstrated ability toinitiateand complete tasks, learn new technical approaches, and interact effectively with a broad range of organizations
Demonstrated ability to create a positive team culture, mentor team members, and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Handsonexperience with at least one public cloudvendor(e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Experience in designing, developing,implementing,operating, and evolving cloud systems to support customers
Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site approx. 10%, ifrequired.
This position requires ability to obtain andmaintaina security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship isrequiredto obtain a security clearance.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
