Job Description**
Join a dynamic repair station that supports small corporate and general aviation aircraft by performing inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance on a wide variety of airframes and systems. You will work hands-on in a busy hangar environment, ensuring aircraft safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance while gaining exposure to diverse aircraft @types and maintenance challenges.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft systems and structures in accordance with maintenance manuals, maintenance cycles, and regulatory requirements.
Perform routine and non-routine maintenance tasks on corporate, turboprop, and general aviation aircraft, following all applicable regulations and safety procedures.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and engine-driven components, diagnosing issues efficiently and implementing effective solutions.
Inspect aircraft for wear, defects, and other issues, and determine appropriate corrective actions to maintain airworthiness.
Document all maintenance, inspections, repairs, and parts usage accurately and completely in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
Assist with a variety of tasks around the hangar as needed, including aircraft moves, general maintenance support, and shop upkeep.
Collaborate with the lead mechanic and maintenance team to prioritize assigned tasks and ensure timely completion of work.
Follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work area, and use tools and equipment properly to prevent damage and ensure personal and team safety.
Essential Skills
Active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
At least 2+ years of experience in corporate, turboprop, or general aviation aircraft maintenance (ideal).
Hands-on experience performing aircraft inspections in accordance with maintenance manuals and maintenance cycles.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and engine-driven components on aircraft.
General aircraft mechanic background with the ability to work across multiple systems and airframes.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply maintenance manuals, technical data, and regulatory guidance.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation in compliance with FAA regulations.
Capability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a hangar team.
Solid understanding of aviation safety practices and adherence to maintenance and safety procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working on King Air, HondaJet, and Cessna Citation airframes is ideal but not required.
Familiarity with Pratt & Whitney PT6 engines is highly desirable.
Ability to adapt to a variety of aircraft @types and maintenance issues in a non-repetitive environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
Effective communication skills to coordinate with leads, peers, and support staff.
Dependable work ethic and willingness to assist with various tasks around the hangar as needed.

Work Environment
The role is based in a hangar environment with approximately 18 technicians and minimal office staff, creating a close-knit, collaborative atmosphere. The facility operates as a comprehensive aircraft sales and service provider, offering a true one-stop-shop experience for aircraft owners and pilots. Work is not repetitive, as you will encounter different @types of planes and a wide range of maintenance issues. Tasks are assigned by a lead, and you are trusted to carry them through independently and professionally. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional flexibility depending on workload. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baton Rouge, LA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
