Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day invoice and payment activities for our team in Westfield, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing high-volume financial transactions with accuracy. The ideal candidate will help maintain smooth accounts payable operations by reviewing invoices, assigning the correct coding, and ensuring timely payment processing.

Responsibilities:

Review incoming invoices for completeness, accuracy, and proper approval before processing

Assign correct general ledger or expense codes to invoices in accordance with company procedures

Enter and process vendor invoices in a timely manner while maintaining strong attention to detail

Prepare and support scheduled check runs to ensure payments are issued accurately and on time

Reconcile invoice information with purchase records or supporting documentation when needed

Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing questions or payment discrepancies

Maintain organized accounts payable records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes Requirements - Experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role

Familiarity with invoice review, coding, and payment processing procedures

Ability to process a high volume of transactions with strong accuracy and attention to detail

Working knowledge of check runs and standard accounts payable documentation

Proficiency with basic accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel

Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
