Job Title: Medical Assistant

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support providers and clinical teams in delivering high-quality patient care. The Medical Assistant will serve as an integral member of the care team, assisting with both clinical and administrative responsibilities while ensuring a positive patient experience throughout the visit.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical Support

Welcome and room patients for appointments.

Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information.

Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.

Assist providers during patient visits and clinical procedures as needed.

Perform point-of-care testing and collect specimens according to established protocols.

Provide patients with instructions regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up appointments.

Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA requirements.

Administrative Support

Accurately document patient information within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Coordinate appointment scheduling, referrals, and follow-up care.

Communicate with patients regarding appointment reminders, test results, and general inquiries.

Assist with insurance verification and other clerical tasks as needed.

Support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.

QualificationsRequired

High School Diploma or GED.

Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent healthcare training.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn EMR systems.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portsmouth, NH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
