Job Description
This entry-level Aircraft Assembler I role focuses on the assembly and disassembly of Boeing and Airbus aircraft, including the removal of serviceable parts for redistribution, parts sales, and support of active airline fleets. You will work with a variety of mechanical components and systems, using hand tools and calibrated tools in a hangar environment while contributing to safe and efficient aircraft maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
Assemble and disassemble Boeing and Airbus aircraft in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.
Harvest and remove serviceable parts and components from aircraft for redistribution, parts sales, or use in maintenance activities.
Use a variety of hand tools, calibrated tools, and drills to assemble and disassemble mechanical parts and structures.
Inspect parts and components during removal and assembly to help identify serviceable items and potential defects.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working in a hangar environment to protect yourself, your team, and aircraft assets.
Read and follow basic mechanical instructions, work orders, or job cards related to aircraft assembly and disassembly tasks.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Collaborate with teammates and support staff to complete assigned tasks efficiently and on schedule.
Support the preparation of aircraft and components for further maintenance, repair, or shipment as required.
Essential Skills
At least 1 year of experience as a mechanic or in mechanical assembly.
Ability to assemble and disassemble mechanical parts and components using hand tools.
Experience in mechanical work such as automotive, diesel mechanic, machine repair, industrial equipment, or farm equipment.
Proficiency using common hand tools, calibrated tools, and drills for mechanical tasks.
Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how components fit and function together.
Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and basic technical documentation.
Capability to work safely and effectively in a hangar environment on or around large equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Mechanical experience from automotive, industrial equipment, machinery, or farm equipment environments is highly valued.
Experience in diesel mechanic work or machine repair is beneficial.
Willingness to learn aircraft-specific procedures and standards without prior aviation experience.
Strong attention to detail when removing, handling, and organizing parts and components.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable work ethic with consistent attendance and punctuality.

Work Environment
You will work primarily in a hangar environment on commercial aircraft such as Boeing and Airbus models. The role follows a day shift schedule, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours. Work involves hands-on mechanical tasks around large aircraft and equipment, using hand tools, calibrated tools, and drills. The environment is active and industrial, with a focus on safety, proper tool use, and adherence to procedures while working in and around aircraft structures and components.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Homewood, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
