Summary THIS IS A MERIT ARMY NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION UNIT: CMA-N (MATES) LOCATION: Camp Ripley, Minnesota SELECTING OFFICIAL: MAJ Thomas Murphy (320) 616-5010 ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED Responsibilities Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list A ELECTRONICS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (T32, MERIT), WS-2604-11, (1) Planning: Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Determines the number and @types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Redirects individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work. Informs the supervisor of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources. Participates with the supervisor in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work. (2) Work Direction: Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implements corrective actions within their authority to resolve work problems. Recommends solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. (3) Administration: Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Determines training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Sets performance standards, and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Initiates recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates. (4) Performs the non-supervisory work of the function as needed. (5) Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. (6) Prepares for and participates in various @types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operation, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a team member on boards to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies. (7) Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Conditions of Employment CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Minnesota National Guard Membership is required. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. Most MNNG position are covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. MILITARY COMPATIBILITY: Upon selection, individuals will undergo a background check to validate suitability for employment with the federal government as permitted by law, regulation, Presidential order or other authority. Suitability is dependent upon the particular requirements for security clearance, sensitivity level, and DOD IT network access. Items checked include, but are not limited to all criminal history record information, employment history, education and fiscal accountability/responsibility. The individual selected must be assigned to a compatible military position and must also maintain satisfactory membership in the Minnesota Army National Guard. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GENERAL AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Requirements: WS - Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. Specialized Experience: WS(All Grade Levels) - In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Position will not be filled until current incumbent vacates. Sensitivity Level 2. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. - Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Acceptance of a Technician position may result in the termination of your Selected Reserve bonus.
