Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our manufacturing team in California. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist who enjoys owning core accounting activities, partnering across departments, and turning financial data into actionable insight. You will support accurate reporting, strengthen cost and inventory controls, and contribute to the efficiency of day-to-day accounting operations in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage key aspects of the monthly close cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, and maintenance of the general ledger.

Record customer payments, issue invoices, and assist with receivables follow-up to support healthy cash flow.

Review aging activity, evaluate credit-related information, and help maintain sound accounts receivable practices.

Prepare bank reconciliations, monitor fixed assets, and ensure supporting records remain accurate and current.

Produce monthly financial statements, investigate fluctuations, and summarize variance drivers for leadership review.

Examine job costing and cost performance trends to highlight discrepancies and support operational decision-making.

Partner with teams such as shipping, sales, and management to provide timely financial information and analysis.

Assist with audits, inventory counts, and compliance-related documentation while helping improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

At least 5 years of accounting experience, including required experience in a manufacturing setting.

Strong background in month-end close, general ledger activity, and journal entry preparation.

Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and financial statement support.

Working knowledge of cost accounting principles and job cost analysis.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze detailed financial data.

Strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with employees and leaders across the organization.
