Job Title: Entry-Level Cable Assembly - 1st Shift Job Description
This entry-level role focuses on cable assembly within a collaborative 12-person production team. You follow detailed work instructions to assemble and build cables using basic hand tools and production equipment. The position may include minor soldering and requires careful attention to wiring, connectors, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Follow written work instructions and schematics to assemble and build cables accurately and consistently.
Perform cable assembly tasks, including wiring, putting wires into connectors, and creating cable harnesses as needed.
Use basic hand tools such as cable crimpers and cable strippers to prepare and terminate cables.
Operate taping and cutting machines and other assembly equipment safely and efficiently.
Carry out minor soldering tasks when required, ensuring clean and reliable connections.
Inspect assembled cables for proper connections, quality, and adherence to specifications.
Maintain an organized and clean work area to support efficient production and safety.
Work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within the production team.
Meet production goals and timelines while maintaining high quality standards.
Follow all workplace safety guidelines and report any issues or equipment concerns promptly.
Essential Skills
Ability to use basic hand tools, including cable crimpers and cable strippers, in a production or assembly setting.
Experience or comfort with cable assembly tasks such as wiring and connecting wires into connectors.
Ability to read and follow work instructions and schematics accurately.
Capability to operate taping and cutting machines or willingness to learn equipment operation.
Attention to detail when working with cables, connectors, and harnesses to ensure quality and reliability.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team.
Basic understanding of electronic assembly processes or willingness to learn.
Reliability in maintaining consistent attendance for a 1st shift schedule.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with electronic assembly and cable harness assembly.
Comfort with minor soldering or interest in learning soldering techniques.
Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is helpful but not required.
Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and adapt to new processes.
Strong communication skills for working within a team-based environment.

Work Environment
You work on a small production team of 12 people that is growing to 16, focused on building cables in a structured manufacturing environment. The role is on 1st shift, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with some overtime possibilities depending on production needs. You use basic hand tools such as crimpers and strippers, as well as taping and cutting machines, while following work instructions and schematics. The environment emphasizes teamwork, safety, and consistent production output.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
