Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description
This role operates a production line that cuts and forms pre-converted abrasive rolls, ensuring that each product meets precise specifications. You will set up and adjust machines, change programs and tooling, and carefully inspect finished products to maintain consistent quality and output.
Responsibilities
Operate a production line that cuts and forms pre-converted abrasive rolls according to job specifications.
Change programs on computer-controlled equipment to run the correct jobs and ensure accurate machine settings.
Manually change tools and cutters to set up jobs in line with production requirements and specifications.
Measure and inspect finished products to verify they adhere to all dimensional and quality specifications.
Perform visual inspections throughout the run to identify defects, inconsistencies, or quality issues.
Count, track, and log production numbers accurately to support reporting and scheduling.
Set up machines for new jobs, including die cutting and other multi-step processes, to minimize downtime.
Perform changeovers between jobs efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Use tape measures and other measuring tools to confirm correct dimensions during setup and production.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve minor machine issues and maintain smooth workflow.
Essential Skills
1-3 years of machine operation experience involving multi-step processes.
Proven ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
Experience performing visual inspections to ensure product quality.
Hands-on experience with machine setup and changeover activities.
Familiarity with die cutting or similar production lines.
Experience operating CNC or other computer-controlled machine lines.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to track, count, and log production numbers accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background operating die cutters or similar converting equipment.
Experience performing machine setups in a production or manufacturing environment.
Exposure to CNC or other automated, computer-controlled production lines.
Comfort working with multi-step manufacturing processes.
Ability to adapt to different jobs and machine configurations as production needs change.

Work Environment
The facility is clean and climate controlled, providing a comfortable and orderly work setting; some areas where machine operators work can become warm when dock doors are open. The production floor has fewer than 50 people, creating a smaller, team-oriented environment. This is a first-shift role, with hours from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. There is a significant amount of voluntary overtime available for those interested in additional hours. You will work with die cutting equipment, machine setup tools, tape measures, and computer-controlled (including CNC) production lines in a structured manufacturing environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
