Job Description
This position exists to provide technical assistance to students in Welding & Fabrication (WELD) Program at CLC. Under limited supervision, the Lab Assistant will assist the Welding instructor(s) and students in the lab setting demonstrating use of equipment and materials including proper techniques and safety considerations, repair and maintain equipment and maintain adequate inventory of supplies to promote student success.
Salary Range:
$21.26-29.28/hour, $44,391-61,137 annual
Minimum Qualifications
Must have post-secondary or industry certificate/diploma/degree or relevant license in Welding Fabrication/Technology; OR
Six months teaching/tutoring experience in Welding at the high school level or above; OR
Two years of work experience Welding; OR
An equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualification
Knowledge of lab/shop equipment sufficient to instruct others on proper use and perform maintenance.
Skill in verbal, written, visual, and mechanical concepts sufficient to understand, perform, and demonstrate operational processes, equipment use, and work techniques.
Knowledge of lab practices, techniques, and safety standards sufficient to operate equipment safely.
Knowledge of college policies, programs, and curriculum sufficient to develop guidelines and goals with students.
Ability to communicate in a variety of formats to gather and relay information with tact and diplomacy.
