Tax Manager | Private Equity | San Jose | Base + Bonus + Profit Sharing

Join a premier private equity firm with a highly sophisticated private markets platform and a strong reputation for excellence. This is a unique opportunity to support a newly launched, large-scale fund structure while gaining deep exposure to complex private equity fund tax, partnership structures, and related accounting matters.

The role offers significant ownership and visibility, with direct exposure to senior stakeholders and external advisors. Responsibilities

Manage tax matters across multiple funds and entities

Prepare tax allocations, schedules, and supporting workpapers

Coordinate with external advisors on tax returns and K-1s

Manage tax deadlines, filings, and ongoing compliance requirements

Support tax matters for complex private equity and evergreen fund structures

Partner with internal teams on fund tax reporting and operational matters

Gain additional exposure to fund accounting based on interest and business needs

Help build and improve internal tax processes and institutional knowledge

Requirements

CPA required

8+ years of private equity tax experience

Big 4 experience strongly preferred

Combination of public accounting + in-house experience preferred

Strong knowledge of partnership tax and private fund structures

Experience preparing tax allocations and supporting external tax advisors

Comfortable owning detailed, hands-on tax work independently

Strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced investment environment
