Responsibilities

Dentons US LLP is currently recruiting for a full-time Commercial Litigation Paralegal to be based in Miami. This position will support the local Commercial Litigation Practitioners. This position will report to the Practice Group Leader, with daily work performed primarily under the direction of assigned practice group lawyers and/or paraprofessionals. Expected responsibilities will include:

Assist with initial case preparation

Assist with all phases of litigation, from complex pre-filing investigations through trial and appeal, including preparing motion and pleading templates, filing briefs with various courts with strict adherence to court rules, preparing exhibits, marshalling facts and documents, monitoring dockets, creating presentations, managing calendars, and communicating with vendors

Assist with all phases of discovery, including privilege reviews and privilege logs, preparation of discovery templates and monitoring responses, document productions, preparation of subpoenas and oversight of service, deposition preparation and summary

Oversee and collaborate with Litigation Support and/or outside service providers to maintain electronic document repositories and facilitate electronic document production tracking.

Manage large case files and maintain e-discovery databases such as Relativity

Draft case summaries and pre-trial reports

Compile materials for attorneys who are attending various court appearances, depositions, and trials

Prepare filings for various courts and government agencies and oversee service and publication of the same

Cite-checking and proofreading

Assist with all phases of trial preparation, including jury questionnaires, trial binders, exhibits, witness binders, motions in limine, and more

Process and maintain hard-copy and electronic litigation files from initiation of lawsuit through trial and appeal of case

These duties may be ongoing or ad hoc in nature

Other duties as may be assigned to fully meet the requirements, billable and performance based, of the position

Position qualifications

Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree, or a Paralegal Certificate with equivalent experience required.

Minimum of 5 years' experience providing exceptionally high-quality service to clients.

Litigation experience must include extensive trial support experience.

Proficiency with litigation support software, e-discovery review platforms, and database management, such as Relativity or Opus2.

Desire to work in a legal environment.

Must have superior communication skills and be able to work in a team environment.

Must have the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.

Must have the ability to interact and work productively with all levels of firm staff.

Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and great organizational skills are essential.

Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Strong computer technical skills and demonstrated ability to learn new software.

Ability to provide direction and training to junior team members.

Ability to maintain discretion and privacy with confidential matters and documents.

Ability to recognize and comprehend facts and legal concepts.

Ability to meet minimum billable hours requirement.

Ability to lift boxes up to 25 pounds and transport files, documents, and office supplies throughout the office.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, PDF creation tools, document management software, InTapp or similar timekeeping software, and internet-based research tools is required.

Excellent client service, ability to work overtime, and travel as needed.
