Job Title: Packers / Production Associate
Job Description
This role focuses on packing, fabrication, and production of component parts used in the final assembly of windows and doors in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You work on your feet for extended periods, operate hand and power tools, handle materials, and ensure product quality across multiple production departments, including extrusion, warehouse, glass, and assembly lines.
Responsibilities
Pack and stack products in specific patterns on carts, keeping loads tight, secure, and accurately measured.
Measure product dimensions using a tape measure, including to the 1/16 of an inch or finer, to verify specifications.
Inspect and test products to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
Operate various hand tools and power tools to manually construct window units and related components.
Lift windows and components onto build tables and roller racks safely and efficiently.
Cross-train and rotate across multiple workstations and departments within the production line or complex.
Move carts in and out of production work areas and transport materials between departments.
Load window sash components for processing insulated glass units.
Assemble vinyl grids for placement within insulated glass units.
Offload insulated glass units onto carts and prepare them for further processing or assembly.
Perform final loading of completed window units into trucks for delivery.
Use production reports to assist in planning, organizing, and prioritizing daily production tasks.
Conduct quality audits and participate in problem-solving activities to address issues and improve processes.
Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures in the production environment.
Work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals and quality standards in a fast-paced setting.
Essential Skills
Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately, including to at least the 1/16 of an inch and up to 1/32 of an inch.
Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Capability to convert fractions to decimals and interpret common statistical data and productivity reports.
Ability to read English and follow written instructions to perform quality checks and testing.
Related machine operation experience is helpful, with the ability to learn and operate production equipment.
Physical ability to stand and work on your feet for 12-hour shifts and bend, lift, and move materials regularly.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, with team lifting used for heavier items.
Capability to move carts in and out of production areas and work in a physically demanding, repetitive environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced production setting.
Strong time management skills and reliability to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment to achieve goals.
Understanding of and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to use computerized equipment as required in the production process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
No prior experience required; manufacturing and extrusion experience is highly preferred.
Experience in window production, extrusion, or other industrial manufacturing environments is a strong plus.
Previous work in assembly positions is considered an excellent fit for this role.
Experience with hand and power tools is beneficial but not required, as training is provided.
Industrial manufacturing settings are preferred over food manufacturing backgrounds.
Experience using a tape measure is preferred, though not strictly required.
Candidates who have extrusion experience from industries other than windows may be eligible for higher pay.
Ability and willingness to learn new processes quickly and adapt to different departments and tasks.
Demonstrated reliability, dependability, and strong work ethic, supported by references.

Work Environment
The role is based in a high-volume manufacturing plant with multiple departments, including extrusion, warehouse, glass, and assembly lines for windows, doors, and frames. Team members work in a fast-paced production environment and are expected to be on their feet for up to 12 hours per shift. The facility runs six different production lines simultaneously, and some departments are more physically demanding than others, though none require prior experience to start. The plant can become very warm during the summer, with temperatures reaching 85 degrees or higher. Work is typically scheduled on a first shift, Monday through Thursday, from 4:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime available based on production needs. Employees use hand tools, power tools, and computerized equipment while following safety protocols and working in a collaborative, industrial setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $22.50/hr.
