Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on troubleshooting, installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of electrical and electronic systems and equipment in an industrial plant environment. You will work with schematics, AC/DC systems, and PLCs, and support both preventive and corrective maintenance activities to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair a broad range of electrical and electronic systems and equipment using schematics, AC/DC systems, and PLCs.
Diagnose and resolve issues in industrial equipment, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery, gearboxes, and related equipment to minimize downtime.
Assist with operating functions as necessary to support production and ensure equipment is running correctly.
Use PLC troubleshooting techniques to identify and correct control system problems.
Carry out electrical maintenance tasks safely and in compliance with plant procedures and standards.
Perform mechanical repairs, including basic fabrication and welding, as needed to restore equipment to service.
Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status to supervisors and other maintenance technicians.
Work independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively with other maintenance technicians depending on task requirements.
Move between various areas of the plant to perform maintenance, adapting to changing work priorities and conditions.
Essential Skills
Proven ability to troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
Hands-on experience working with AC and DC electrical systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
Strong BC in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Mechanical aptitude with experience in repair of industrial equipment.
Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics used in industrial machinery.
Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment and gearboxes.
Ability to perform basic welding and fabrication for maintenance repairs.
Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a maintenance team.
Willingness and ability to work in hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy environments within the plant.
Ability to pass a Ramsey test prior to hire, as part of the selection process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience as an industrial maintenance technician or in a similar maintenance repair role.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and documentation practices.
Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment commonly used in industrial maintenance.
Union environment experience is beneficial but not required.

Work Environment
This position is based in an industrial plant where you will work across various areas of the facility as maintenance needs arise. Environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy, and you should be comfortable working in a physically demanding setting around industrial equipment. You will regularly use tools and equipment related to electrical maintenance, mechanical repair, welding, and PLC troubleshooting. The role may require flexibility in hours to support plant operations and maintenance schedules, and you will operate within a unionized work environment with established procedures and standards.

This is a Permanent position based out of Granite City, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $71427.00 - $79747.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
