Job Title: General Laborer
Job Description
This role supports a commercial construction crew by providing safe and efficient spotting, site logistics, and material handling. You oversee workers operating lifts and other machinery, help coordinate loading and moving materials, and guide drivers and equipment operators to ensure everyone follows established safety standards on site.
Responsibilities
Oversee and support workers operating lifts and other construction machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Actively spot equipment and vehicle movements to prevent incidents and maintain clear, safe pathways on the job site.
Coordinate and guide drivers during loading, unloading, and material transport activities within the construction site.
Assist with loading, moving, and positioning materials as directed to support daily construction activities.
Perform regular site cleanup, including removing debris and organizing materials, to maintain a clean and safe work area.
Monitor adherence to safety standards and procedures and promptly address unsafe conditions or behaviors.
Support site logistics by helping manage the flow of materials, equipment, and vehicles around the job site.
Communicate clearly with crew members, equipment operators, and drivers to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations.
Use basic mechanical understanding to work around machinery safely and support machine operation as needed.
Perform heavy lifting and other physical tasks as required to assist the construction team.
Essential Skills
Proven experience with spotting on construction or similar work sites.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
Hands-on experience with site cleanup and maintaining an organized job site.
Experience supporting driver management, including guiding vehicles and coordinating movements on site.
Familiarity with construction environments and basic construction practices.
Comfort working around machine operation and mechanical equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
Strong awareness of safety standards and commitment to safe work practices.
Clear and reliable communication skills to coordinate with crew members and drivers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in commercial construction environments.
Experience with site logistics, including coordinating materials and equipment on active job sites.
Mechanical aptitude to understand how equipment operates and how to work safely around it.
Ability to work effectively as part of a crew in a fast-paced, outdoor construction setting.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Union City, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
