Job Title: Technician - Custom Garage Door Trim Carpentry
Job Description
This role focuses on building custom garage door orders with a strong emphasis on trim and finish carpentry. You will measure, cut, and install trim components according to detailed templates and cut instructions, using a variety of hand and power tools to produce high-quality, custom doors in a production environment.
Responsibilities
Build custom garage door orders from start to finish according to provided specifications and templates.
Install trim carpentry packages on custom doors, ensuring accurate fit, alignment, and a professional finish.
Measure and cut materials precisely based on template measurements and cut instructions.
Use adhesive glue and/or a nailing system to securely install trim pieces on garage doors.
Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during cutting and installation tasks.
Read and interpret templates, measurements, and cut instructions to ensure all components meet required specifications.
Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and consistency before moving doors to the next stage of production.
Maintain a clean and organized work area at assigned stations to support safe and efficient operations.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working with tools, equipment, and materials.
Essential Skills
Proven experience with trim carpentry, including measuring, cutting, and installing trim components.
Ability to perform finish carpentry tasks with attention to detail and quality.
Strong proficiency using hand tools such as hammers, tape measures, squares, and cutting tools.
Experience operating power tools safely and effectively in a carpentry or construction environment.
Ability to read and interpret templates, measurements, and detailed cut instructions.
Solid understanding of basic construction and carpentry principles.
Good manual dexterity and ability to handle repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy.
Commitment to following safety procedures when working in a warehouse or production setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in carpentry or construction environments, particularly trim or finish work.
Experience working on custom or specialty fabrication projects.
Ability to work efficiently at a production pace while maintaining high quality standards.
Strong attention to detail and ability to spot measurement or alignment issues.
Comfort working both independently at a station and collaboratively as part of a production team.

Work Environment

This is a Contract position based out of Plainfield, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
