This Construction Superintendent role leads field operations on complex commercial projects from groundbreaking through closeout. You oversee daily onsite activities, coordinate subcontractors and field personnel, and ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and building codes. You play a key role in maintaining strong client relationships, upholding high standards of craftsmanship and integrity, and representing the builder's people-first, collaborative culture on every jobsite.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily onsite construction activities to ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project plans and specifications.
Coordinate subcontractors and field personnel to maintain project schedules, sequencing, and quality standards on commercial construction projects.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, safety logs, and progress updates, and ensure information is shared with project stakeholders.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with construction documents, building codes, and safety requirements.
Collaborate closely with project managers on scheduling, procurement, and resolution of field issues to keep the project on track.
Lead onsite safety initiatives, promote a strong safety culture, and enforce adherence to OSHA and jobsite safety standards.
Communicate proactively with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparency, and timely issue resolution.
Manage project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and turnover documentation, to deliver a complete and high-quality project.
Provide day-to-day leadership to field teams, set expectations, and maintain a positive and professional jobsite environment.
Support quality control efforts on ground-up and tenant improvement projects, ensuring craftsmanship meets or exceeds company and client expectations.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 5+ years of superintendent or field leadership experience with a commercial general contractor.
Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and best practices for ground-up and tenant improvement projects.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents, including plans, specifications, and submittals.
Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and maintain productive working relationships with field personnel and trade partners.
Solid knowledge of jobsite safety standards and OSHA requirements, with the ability to lead and enforce safety programs.
Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset when addressing field issues and schedule or coordination challenges.
Proven ability to supervise construction activities and maintain high standards of quality control on commercial projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background in construction management or related field, with practical experience in commercial construction environments.
Experience working for or with a commercial general contractor on complex, multi-trade projects.
Familiarity with OSHA 30 standards and formal safety training or certifications.
Experience overseeing both ground-up construction and tenant improvement work.
Ability to foster a collaborative, people-first culture on the jobsite and build long-term relationships with clients and partners.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift and proactive communication is essential.

Work Environment
This role is primarily field-based on active commercial construction sites, overseeing ground-up and tenant improvement projects. You work in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent movement around the jobsite, regular site inspections, and close coordination with subcontractors, field personnel, clients, and design teams. Construction management technologies such as Procore, Bluebeam, and other digital tools support documentation, communication, and project tracking. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $165000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
