About IPSD
Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary:
IPSD is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in San Antonio, Texas as a Senior Industrial Electrician for the Industrial Power Systems Division. As an electrician, you will be responsible for safely performing the installation, maintenance and repairs of electrical equipment and building electrical power distribution systems. What you will do:
Champion a safety-first mindset, ensuring a hazard free work environment
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for manufacturing equipment and plant infrastructure per local and National Electric Codes
Troubleshoot and repair electrical components of CNC machining centers and other industrial equipment
Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency
Read schematics and blueprints, estimating materials and parts for projects
Maintain accurate documentation of labor hours, work orders, and equipment status
Take initiative to identify, document, and correct problems related to equipment discrepancies and recommend solutions
Coordinate and prioritize work to meet customer needs
Work cross-functionally to support production teams and meet operational goals and KPIs
Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process enhancements
Execute daily work assignments directed by the Production Manager
Work with limited supervision
Perform other assigned duties
What you will have:
Active Journeyman Electrician License or can renew license by date of employment
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting as an electrician
Strong knowledge of electrical schematics and blueprints
Experience with electrical diagnostic tools (VOM, Megger, etc.)
Excellent trouble-shooting skills and ability to work independently
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
What would make you a top candidate:
In-depth knowledge of Fanuc and Siemens controls and applications
Active Master Electrician License with industrial and/or commercial experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, sit and perform repetitive operations for extended periods
Exposure to 85db+ noise levels and industrial fumes
Comfortable climbing ladders and working at multiple heights
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Summary Pay Range:
$36.75 - $47.75
