The Massachusetts Military Division is searching for an experienced professional to monitor, maintain, and repair liquid fuels distribution systems at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, Massachusetts. The Program Coordinator I works under the supervision of the base Facilities Manager, Civil Engineer, and Deputy Civil Engineer. This position is responsible for the maintenance and installation of fuel storage and distribution systems as well as advising in developing repair and maintenance projects. An ideal candidate would have knowledge of and experience with the maintenance and repair of liquid fuel systems and hazardous fuel products as well as the ability to interpret relevant blueprints and schematics. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Installs,repairs,and maintainsfuelstorage,distribution,and dispensingsystems.Manages and modifiesliquid fuel systems and components.Maintain liquid fuelstoring, distributing, and dispensing.Performs maintenance on liquid fuelsystems used forstoringaboveand below ground tanks.Dispensingconventionalfuelssuchasheating oil, gasoline and jet petroleum.Performs alterations of liquid fuelfacilitiesto eliminate defectsin design on construction. Performs recurring maintenance and seasonal overhaul on systems and components. Performs recurring maintenance.Performs recurring maintenanceand seasonal overhaul on systems and components.Inspects systems for leaking, corroding, faulty fittings, and inoperative components.Inspects for condition and operation of electricalunits such as switches, starters, contactors, wiring, and fuse boxes.Inspects componentpartssuch aspipe fittings,valves,pumps, filtersseparators, filters,meters, pressure gauges, and tanks. Checks fornoise orvibration indicating trouble in motorormisalignmentof pump rotoror shafts.Checks components foroperation, and adjustments pressures, and internaland externalleaks underpressure.Checks equipment forserviceability before installation.Repairs, replaces,and adjusts faulty systemcomponents.Cleans and repairs fuelstrainers and replaces filterelements.Lubricates systems components. Adviseson problems installingand repairing liquid fuelstorage.Advisesoperation and maintenance superintendent on problems installing and repairing of liquid fuelstorage, distribution, and dispensing equipment and systems.Solves complex maintenance problems bystudyinglayoutdrawings,wiringand schematicdrawings. Develops and establishes operation and maintenance procedures to ensure maximum efficiency. Work with DLA on funding and performing maintenance projects. Backflow ProgramManager:ResponsibleforcompliancewithCommonwealthofMassachusettsSafeDrinkingWaterRegulation 310CMR 22.22 as well as all applicable Air Force regulations pertaining to safe drinking water. Performs inspections,tests, andrepairs on all backflow preventers. Performscross-connectionsurveys on buildings base widetoensure thereare nounauthorized connectionstopotable watersystem. Reviewsdrawingsand ensures/advises on properdevice and installation. Mass. Cross Connection Tester/Surveyor license required. Cathodic Protection Tester;Responsible fortesting of cathodically protected structures to ensure proper readings/protection asoutlined in UFC3-570-6 CathodicProtection Systemsaremaintained. Ensureproper documentationismaintained,also adviseonupdates/upgradestosystemswhicharenon-compliantand requiremodification. Utilize electronic systems to manage and document work completed. Order and manage on-hand replacement parts. Document work orders and preventative maintenance tasks in directed digital systems.
