Summary:
Lead site quality management for hydroelectric construction, installation, testing, commissioning, customer acceptance, and project closeout activities.
Ensure quality requirements are implemented and verified at site to support safe, compliant, and reliable project execution.
Serve as the primary quality interface between Voith site teams, Project Quality, Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Quality, subcontractors, vendors, customer inspectors, and site stakeholders.
Manage site quality documentation, customer submittals, NCRs, corrective actions, inspection readiness, customer witness inspections, quality records, turnover packages, and final acceptance support.
Promote prevention-based quality by building quality requirements, inspection expectations, acceptance criteria, environmental compliance needs, and lessons learned into site execution processes.
Support compliance with quality, environmental, health, safety, contractual, regulatory, statutory, and Voith Business Management System requirements.
Responsibilities:
Site quality leadership and planning
Lead and coordinate site quality activities during construction, installation, testing, commissioning, customer handover, project closure, and turnover.
Develop, review, maintain, and execute site-specific Quality Plans, Construction & Commissioning Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists, quality schedules, and related documentation requirements.
Ensure customer, contractual, regulatory, statutory, environmental, and Voith quality requirements are understood, deployed, monitored, and verified during site work.
Coordinate with Project Quality Managers, site leadership, Field Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Quality, HSE, subcontractors, vendors, and customer representatives to align quality expectations.
Support site kick-off meetings, handover to site teams, handover to commissioning teams, project coordination meetings, site status reviews, customer audit/inspection meetings, and final handover meetings.
Customer submittals, quality records, and turnover documentation
Manage site quality documentation and ensure inspection records, test reports, field quality records, commissioning records, SAT records, PAC/FAC support records, and turnover deliverables are complete, accurate, traceable, and contract compliant.
Prepare, review, compile, and submit contract-required documents to the customer, including site quality dockets, quality data books, quality dossiers, inspection reports, test records, NCR documentation, redline support documents, and closeout packages.
Track document status, customer comments, open actions, revise-and-resubmit items, and approval status through closure.
Coordinate with Document Control and project stakeholders to ensure required site quality records are available for internal review, customer review, acceptance, and archive.
NCR, corrective action, and risk management
Initiate, investigate, manage, and close construction and commissioning NCRs, quality findings, deviations, punch-list items, and corrective actions.
Ensure NCRs are clearly described, supported by objective evidence, properly assigned, dispositioned, approved when required, and followed through to effective closure.
Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities with site teams, vendors, subcontractors, Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Quality, customers, and suppliers.
Monitor site quality risks, NCR trends, overdue actions, recurring issues, and field quality performance; escalate critical issues affecting customer acceptance, schedule, safety, environmental compliance, or project cost.
Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement actions to reduce rework, prevent recurrence, and strengthen future site execution.
Construction and commissioning inspection management
Execute and manage C&C ITPs and verify that planned inspections, tests, audits, quality checks, witness points, hold points, and acceptance criteria are completed in accordance with project requirements.
Coordinate internal and external inspection resources for mechanical, electrical, dimensional, welding, coating, NDE, calibration, commissioning, and functional testing activities where applicable.
Plan, coordinate, and support customer witness inspections, site inspections, audits, surveillance activities, and quality reviews, including readiness checks, agendas, required resources, acceptance criteria, equipment, calibration status, and supporting records.
Verify that inspection documentation is reviewed before physical inspection when required so inspection focus can be adjusted based on documentation findings.
