Job Title: Construction Technician Job Description
This role supports demolition, structural installation, and general construction activities within an active wastewater treatment facility. You will help remove existing structures, install temporary shoring and precast concrete elements, and perform a variety of carpentry, rigging, and construction support tasks while strictly following site-specific safety procedures and working closely with a field crew.
Responsibilities
Demolish and remove an existing steel building in a safe and controlled manner.
Dismantle and remove an overhead crane system following established procedures.
Remove aluminum decking and related structural components as directed.
Install steel shoring systems within treatment tanks to support ongoing construction activities.
Set and accurately position precast concrete structures according to project plans and layout.
Perform general carpentry, rigging, and construction support tasks to assist the crew.
Handle materials, load and unload supplies, and support site logistics as needed.
Operate construction equipment and tools safely and efficiently as assigned.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through regular site cleanup.
Follow all site-specific safety requirements, PPE standards, and project procedures at all times.
Work as an effective member of a crew in an active wastewater treatment facility.
Read and interpret construction plans to assist with layout and installation work.
Support concrete placement, temporary shoring, and formwork activities when required.
Communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate daily tasks and priorities.
Essential Skills
Demonstrated demolition experience in a construction environment.
Previous commercial or industrial construction experience preferred.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools on a construction site.
Experience working around heavy equipment and structural demolition activities.
Experience with commercial, industrial, or heavy civil construction projects.
Ability to read construction plans and perform basic layout work.
Familiarity with installing temporary shoring, formwork, or structural components preferred.
Familiarity with rigging, concrete placement, and structural construction considered a plus.
Concrete-related experience such as concrete finishing, formwork, or framing is beneficial.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds safely and repeatedly.
Ability to work safely in and around industrial facilities, including treatment plants.
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
Strong work ethic and positive attitude toward safety and teamwork.
Ability to comply with all site safety policies, PPE requirements, and pre-employment screenings as required.
Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with concrete finishing, framing, or working as a concrete finisher.
Experience installing temporary shoring systems or formwork in industrial or heavy civil settings.
Exposure to structural construction, including precast concrete installation and rigging.
Comfort working in active industrial or wastewater treatment environments.
Willingness to learn new construction methods and follow detailed instructions.
Ability to contribute to a team-oriented, safety-focused jobsite.

Work Environment
This position is based at an active wastewater treatment plant in Summit County, Colorado, within an industrial construction environment. You will work around treatment tanks, structural steel, precast concrete, and heavy equipment while following strict safety and PPE requirements. The work is physically demanding and takes place in varying weather conditions, including exposure to outdoor elements typical of the region. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with consistent overtime opportunities available. You will work as part of a field crew, using hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and construction machinery in a structured, safety-focused setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
