Job Description
The 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician supports a plastics manufacturing facility by performing both electrical and mechanical maintenance on industrial production and facility equipment. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of extrusion lines and related systems during the overnight shift.
Responsibilities
Perform industrial and facilities maintenance on plastic production equipment, including both electrical and mechanical systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment such as extrusion lines, chillers and cooling systems, vacuums and grippers, servos, sensors, switches, conveyors, and related machinery.
Work regularly with 480V and 3-phase electrical systems in a safe and compliant manner.
Perform general millwright and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on production and support equipment.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and components to minimize downtime.
Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to identify issues and complete repairs accurately.
Wire and maintain control panels and associated electrical components.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical maintenance issues up to 480V.
Support installation, service, and repair activities for new and existing equipment as needed.
Document maintenance work performed and communicate equipment status and issues to relevant team members.
Follow established safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment by identifying and reporting hazards.
Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to prioritize tasks and ensure smooth operation of the production lines.
Participate in cross-training opportunities to expand skills across different equipment and systems.
Essential Skills
3-5 years of previous maintenance experience in an industrial environment, performing both electrical and mechanical work.
Hands-on mechanical maintenance experience with production equipment and facility systems.
Electrical maintenance experience working with voltages up to 480V and 3-phase power.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
Experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic components.
Experience with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic components.
Proficiency in wiring and maintaining electrical control panels.
Experience performing preventative maintenance on industrial equipment.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds safely as part of daily duties.
Comfort standing for the duration of the shift (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday through Friday).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience troubleshooting PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
Maintenance experience on plastic cutline extrusion equipment.

Experience with industrial maintenance, including installation, service, and repair of production equipment.
Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices and documentation.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and mechanical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Comfort working with a variety of equipment such as chillers, cooling systems, vacuums, grippers, servos, sensors, switches, and conveyors.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr.
