Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and skilled Reach Truck Drivers and Order Pickers in a busy distribution center. You will primarily operate a reach truck to pick, stage, and prepare customer orders, support inventory movements, and contribute to a clean, organized, and safety-focused warehouse environment. Responsibilities
Receive pick lists from warehouse clerks at the start of each shift and review them for accuracy and completeness.
Use a scan gun to locate, identify, and pick orders throughout the warehouse according to pick tickets and customer requirements.
Pick customer orders that range from single-line orders to 15 or more product lines, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Operate a reach truck for approximately 90-95% of the workday to move, retrieve, and place products within the warehouse.
Retrieve products from double-deep racking systems that extend up to four stories high while following all safety protocols.
Stage, wrap, and prepare completed orders for shipment to ensure they are secure, labeled correctly, and ready for loading.
Put away incoming inventory and replenish warehouse locations to maintain accurate stock levels and support order fulfillment.
Load and unload trucks throughout the day, handling materials safely and efficiently to meet shipping and receiving timelines.
Cross-train in multiple warehouse functions to provide support across different areas and increase operational flexibility.
Maintain productivity expectations of approximately five pick lines per hour while preserving high levels of accuracy and safety.
Assist with warehouse cleanup and organization during the last 15 minutes of the shift to maintain a clean and orderly facility.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment, adapting to changing priorities and business needs.
Follow all safety procedures when working at heights and operating reach trucks in high-bay racking systems.
Be open to staying until 4:30 PM based on business needs and to working overtime, including occasional Saturdays during peak summer months.
Essential Skills
At least 1 year of recent reach truck operating experience, with double-deep reach truck experience preferred.
Proficiency using a scan gun to locate, pick, and track inventory and orders within a warehouse environment.
Experience reading and following pick tickets accurately while working in a fast-paced distribution setting.
Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 75 pounds when needed throughout the workday.
Ability to work safely at heights while operating reach trucks in high-bay, double-deep racking systems up to four stories high.
Comfort with maintaining productivity expectations of approximately five pick lines per hour while preserving accuracy.
Willingness to work overtime, including extended shifts and occasional Saturdays during peak summer months.
Commitment to following safety-first practices and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment handling industrial, construction, or packaging products.
Familiarity with basic warehouse systems and tools, including scan guns and, where applicable, SAP or similar inventory systems.
Ability to cross-train and perform multiple warehouse functions beyond reach truck operation.
Strong attention to detail and reliability in meeting daily productivity and quality expectations.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with warehouse clerks and other team members.

Work Environment
This role is based in a distribution center environment that operates with a small, close-knit team of around 10 employees. Although it is a warehouse, the facility is heated in the winter and maintains comfortable temperatures in the summer. The workday runs from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with a 15-minute break from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM, a 30-minute lunch from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, and a final 15-minute break at the end of the shift. You may be asked to stay until 4:30 PM depending on business needs and to work occasional Saturday overtime during peak summer months. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with extensive use of reach trucks, scan guns, and racking systems to handle products used in commercial and residential roofing, construction and building products, industrial adhesives and sealants, packaging materials, woodworking and manufacturing applications, consumer products, and materials used by construction contractors and building supply companies.
