Assistant Town Clerk- Operations & Elections Administration Position
Description/Minimum Qualifications The Town of Easton is accepting
applications for a qualified individual to fill the position of full
time Assistant Town Clerk - Operations and Elections Administration. The
Assistant Town Clerk assists the Town Clerk with statutory duties and
responsibilities of the department in accordance with Massachusetts
General Laws, Town Charter, Town Bylaws and regulations and may assume
the powers and duties in the absence of the Town Clerk as outlined in
MGL c 41, ?19. Associate\'s degree preferred; three to five years of
experience in responsible clerical or administrative work preferably in
the public sector; experience with elections and strong customer service
background preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and
experience. Massachusetts Notary Public designation required within 90
days of appointment. The successful candidate must have a valid
driver\'s license and must provide proof of an acceptable driving record
from the Registry of Motor Vehicles. International Institute of
Municipal Clerks (IIMC) designation as Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC)
preferred, or intent to begin process within first year of employment
and continue towards this until it is achieved. Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, providing responsible administrative
work in assisting the Town Clerk in connection with the keeping of
official municipal records, the processing and issuing of various
licenses and official documents, vital statistics, board & committee
tracking, planning & zoning filings, participating in all phases of
elections administration, including management of Town Census and
certification of nomination papers and petitions, posting meetings and
in providing information to the general public and town departments; all
other related work as required. Candidate must possess strong
communication & customer service skills; excellent organizational
skills; ability to multi-task & produce detailed work; must have strong
computer skills, including intermediate to advance excel knowledge and
comfort with multiple database management programs. This is a union
position with excellent pay, benefits and municipal pension system. Step
1 is \$33.949 per hour; anticipated hiring range is \$33.949 - \$37.109
per hour (\$61,787.44 - \$67,538.64 if annualized) depending on
