Description
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day payment operations for a long-term contract assignment on a remote basis for 12 weeks. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in invoice handling, account coding, and disbursement processing who can maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The role will focus on keeping payables organized, ensuring timely payments, and helping maintain reliable financial records.
Responsibilities:
Review incoming invoices for completeness, accuracy, and proper supporting documentation before processing.
Assign correct general ledger or expense codes to invoices and route items appropriately when needed.
Enter and manage accounts payable transactions with close attention to deadlines and internal controls.
Prepare and process ACH payments and check runs in accordance with established payment schedules.
Reconcile payable records and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Maintain organized documentation for invoices, payment activity, and related financial records.
Assist with periodic reporting and provide support during audits or account reviews as requested.
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
Hands-on experience with invoice coding, account coding, and high-volume invoice processing.
Working knowledge of ACH payments, check disbursements, and standard accounts payable procedures.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and maintain accurate records.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring processing deadlines consistently.
