Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Professional - Electrical ContractorJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Professional to join our team in overseeing and improving company-wide EHS policies, procedures, and programs. The role involves ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture within active electrical construction projects.
Responsibilities
Implement and continuously improve company-wide EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
Ensure alignment with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations.
Maintain and manage key compliance documentation including OSHA logs, incident reports, and training records.
Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and jobsite walkthroughs.
Identify hazards such as electrical, fall protection, and confined space, and implement corrective actions.
Partner with field leadership to evaluate work plans and ensure safe execution.
Promote best practices related to electrical hazards including shock, arc flash, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Ensure crews follow proper PPE usage, energized work protocols, and safe work distances.
Support compliance with OSHA electrical standards and hazard recognition requirements.
Lead new hire safety orientations and ongoing training programs.
Provide training on topics such as PPE, hazard communication, fall protection, and electrical safety.
Foster a proactive safety culture where employees are engaged and accountable.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
Track and trend safety metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Coordinate with leadership on reporting and compliance requirements.
Interface with OSHA inspectors, clients, and regulatory agencies as needed.
Ensure adherence to client-specific safety requirements and site safety plans.
Monitor regulatory updates and implement changes across operations.
Essential Skills
Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926).
Experience with electrical construction hazards and mitigation techniques.
Ability to identify hazards including electrical, fall protection, and confined space.
Experience conducting job hazard analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments.
Knowledge of OSHA electrical standards and hazard recognition requirements.
Ability to promote best practices related to electrical hazards including shock, arc flash, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Experience ensuring crews follow proper PPE usage, energized work protocols, and safe work distances.
Ability to train and influence field teams and leadership.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
3-8+ years of EHS experience in construction or electrical contracting.
OSHA 30 certification required.
CHST, CSP, or equivalent safety certification preferred.
First Aid/CPR certification.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Work Environment
The role requires presence in active electrical construction projects, involving work with electrical contractors and construction trades. The jobsite environment necessitates field presence to ensure safety and compliance.

This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
