Kelly Engineering seeks experienced Industrial Electricians to support and improve automated manufacturing equipment at our client's production facility in Fletcher, NC. This role is responsible for troubleshooting complex electrical and control systems, supporting PLC/HMI programming, installing and maintaining industrial equipment, and driving continuous improvements that increase equipment reliability and production efficiency.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair electrical and control system issues on manufacturing equipment.
Install, assemble, test, and maintain industrial electrical systems and automation equipment.
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and support programming changes as needed.
Develop or modify PLC and HMI programs to improve machine performance.
Design and implement automation improvements for manufacturing processes.
Integrate new automation components into existing production equipment.
Optimize machine performance by identifying and resolving process constraints.
Develop and refine control logic, sequencing, and automation algorithms.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
Document electrical systems, programming changes, and equipment modifications.
Partner with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability.
Follow all electrical safety procedures, including safe work practices around energized equipment.
Support continuous improvement and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
Provide technical guidance and serve as a resource for less experienced team members.
What You'll Need:
High school diploma or GED
5+ years of experience hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial electrical and automation systems.
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.
Experience designing, programming, or modifying PLC-based control systems.
Experience implementing HMI solutions.
Knowledge of industrial automation, machine controls, and electrical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot control logic and identify root causes of equipment failures.
Experience integrating automation hardware and control components.
Familiarity with documenting electrical controls and programming changes.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Commitment to safe work practices around electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Previous experience mentoring technicians or serving as a technical lead.
Nice to Have:
Experience optimizing automated manufacturing equipment for improved productivity and reliability.
Background developing control sequences and automation algorithms.
Experience working on continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing.
Any licenses or certifications required to meet export control or regulatory requirements, if applicable.
