What's a typical day as a Medical Biller? You'll be:
Reviewing medical claims and transmitting them to insurance carriers using an electronic health records (EHR) system and clearing house.
Monitoring rejected claims, making necessary adjustments, and resubmitting for approval.
Downloading explanation of payments to post claim payments and denials in the EHR system.
Researching denied and open claim balances, correcting errors, and resubmitting within carrier guidelines.
Utilizing insurance carrier websites and direct communication to investigate claim denials and status.
Partnering with the clearing house to distribute patient billing statements and monitor the patient portal for payments.
Initiating overpayment refunds to patients and repayments to carriers, as required.
Serving as the primary point of contact for vision and medical claims within the practice.
Supporting the corporate manager to maximize claim collection rates.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
Have a high school diploma and at least 3 years of related experience in medical billing and coding (5 years strongly preferred).
Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
Exhibit effective communication skills-verbal, written, listening, and presentation.
Can prioritize issues efficiently and solve problems independently.
Have experience working in multiple doctor practices (preferred).
Possess knowledge of requirements for multiple insurance carriers and proven ability to identify and resolve billing issues.
