The Site Supply Chain Manager is responsible for ensuring materials are identified, specified, received, inspected, stored and issued to support site needs. This individual should interface with site customers to maintain good working relationships and to identify areas for concern or potential need quickly before significant problems arise. The Site Supply Chain Manager is responsible for consistently implementing the SC team vision and philosophy at the site level. Directly manages Warehousing and Shipping/Receiving personnel to provide leadership and guidance associated with the storage, issue, physical inventory, maintenance, shipping/ receiving, QA receipt inspection/testing of parts/materials and shift coverage of Nuclear Supply Chain warehouses.
Promotes safety within supply chain organization in support of Company goals.
Supports human error reduction by actively utilizing Human Performance tools and the CAP process.
Assures internal and external customer's needs are being met.
Provides leadership and support of the corporate and departmental strategic plans.
Ensure the career development of our teammates through training and effective evaluations.
Assure proper staffing levels and coverage is provided to support station schedules
Assures compliance to Nuclear, Transportation, and Environmental Codes, Standards, Regulatory Guides and Procedures.
Responsibilities
Directs the cost-effective and quality management of materials, equipment, and spare parts to support the operations and activities of NGD
Establishes and monitors short- and long-range goals and objectives for the Site Supply Chain Warehouse Organization
Works actively with other sites and Central organization to ensure plant material needs are being met
Provides guidance and support to subordinates in the accomplishment of their responsibilities
Maintains effective and well-qualified warehouse, receiving and inspection teams through training, industry involvement and mentoring
Establishes and is accountable for section budget
Maintains a productive and motivated staff through effective human resources management and the implementation of appropriate personnel policy
Promotes a common direction on warehouse and receiving activities through establishment of a clear vision and appropriate goals and measures consistent with Supply Chain vision and goals
Oversees and monitors performance management and salary administration to ensure consistency and equity
Selects key subordinate staff and approves selection of other subordinate staff
Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with internal customers and external personnel
Interfaces with customer departments regarding Supply Chain activities and issues
As applicable, attends site daily, outage, and planning meetings to maintain interface with customers, determine their materials needs and to resolve NSC related issues
Interfaces regularly with SC Central management to promote effective relations and resolve material and scheduling problems
Intervenes when problems have the potential to significantly affect customer and/or supplier relations
Effectively directs receiving, shipping and inspection areas for consistent operation within directives, regulations and license commitments
Maintains clear focus on compliance with 10CFR50 App. B and ANSI N45.2.6 in the receipt of QA items
Maintains clear focus on compliance with environmental and DOT regulations in the shipping and receiving areas
Ensures workers have access to appropriate tools and information to perform jobs safely and within guidelines
Ensures resources are scheduled to support station needs
Effectively directs warehousing area for consistent operation within directives, regulations, and license commitments to meet customer needs
Promotes departmental resources (materials and personnel) sharing in support of SC needs
Maintains clear focus on compliance with ANSI N45.2.2 and environmental regulations in the storage and handling of nuclear plant materials
Maintains focus on meeting customer needs at all sites for materials requests
Promotes departmental warehousing initiatives
Ensures resources are scheduled to support station needs
Manages the site receipts process for all materials and ensures that material meet Purchase Order specifications. Check materials for physical damage, quantity, documentation, chemical labeling and authorize invoice payment.
Manage a Nuclear Safety Related calibration program for all tools and equipment associated with the receipt testing and inspection of materials, including daily calibrations, records and service purchase orders.
Manage and maintain extensive training files for all inspectors and testers. Coordinate with Level III Inspector to ensure maintenance of qualifications and additional training.
Assures all chemical related materials are stored in accordance with all applicable procedures and guidelines.
Assures that QA and Non-QA materials are maintained and stored in a manner that assures all applicable controls and traceability is maintained
Assures issues and returns of QA and non-QA materials are in accordance with all applicable supply chain procedures and or station directives.
Perform routine warehouse inspection to assure materials are adequately stored and are in compliance with procedure.
Perform preventative maintenance check as required on all material handling equipment to assure they are in safe operating condition.
Verify temperature readings in warehouses are recorded daily to assure they are in compliance with QA requirements.
Provide feedback and input on warehousing directives that should be updated or deleted as needed to assure they are kept current.
Basic/Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Other Related Degree
Minimum 5 years related work experience
In lieu of Bachelor's degree(s) AND 5 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 9 year(s) related work experience
Desired Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of nuclear generating stations
Good project management experience
Strong understanding of database technology
Good understanding of purchasing policies
Good understanding of nuclear procurement on licensing basis issues and commitments
Good understanding of inventory issues
Good understanding of Nuclear Procurement Program
Level II Materials Inspector Certification
PE, CPM or MBA
Working Conditions
Onsite Mobility Classification - Work will be performed at a company facility.
Onsite at Brunswick Nuclear Plant (Southport NC).
Working in warehouse and receiving environments (indoors and outdoors)
Normal office environment with occasional travel to other nuclear sites, supplier facilities and industry meetings.
