Job Description
The Michigan Civil Service Commission is looking for a motivated individual who is organized, has exemplary analytical and problem-solving skills, and is interested in working in a fast-paced Human Resources environment. This position will serve as a Human Resources Technician performing a full range of duties servicing the Department of Corrections handling workers compensation and medical leaves. The position is the first point of contact for Michigan Department of Corrections employees, supervisors, as well as Human Resources staff.
Ideal candidates will have:
A strong understanding of the Family Medical Leave Act.
Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply policies, rules, regulations, the Family and Medical Leave Act Guidelines.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This position currently holds a hybrid schedule, where you will be in office one day per week and remote work for other four days. This is subject to change at any time based on operational needs.

Vacation and Sick Leave:Eligible full-time employees receive between15 and 35 personal daysand 13 sick daysper year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.
Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
