Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Medical Assistant to support two clinicians within an on-site healthcare clinic serving residents of an Assisted Living and Independent Living Community. This individual will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care while operating independently in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, self-sufficient, and confident in performing venipunctures on a geriatric patient population. In addition to technical competence, this person must possess an exceptional bedside manner, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build trust with older adults who may require extra patience, reassurance, and personalized attention.

Responsibilities

Support two clinicians with daily patient care activities and clinic operations.

Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other pertinent health information.

Perform blood draws and specimen collection on geriatric patients with a high level of skill and patient comfort.

Conduct point-of-care testing and basic diagnostic procedures, including spirometry.

Accurately prepare, label, and process laboratory specimens.

Document patient encounters and clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Assist with care coordination, patient follow-up, and communication regarding treatment plans.

Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies.

Ensure compliance with all clinical protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations.

Foster a welcoming, compassionate environment for residents and their families.

Essential Skills

High School Diploma or GED required.

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent).

Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in a physician office, clinic, senior care, primary care, internal medicine, or similar setting.

Proven experience performing venipuncture and specimen collection independently.

Experience working with geriatric patients strongly preferred.

Proficiency with EMR systems and basic clinical documentation.

Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Exceptional phlebotomy and laboratory collection skills.

Comfortable working in a clinic environment with a high degree of autonomy.

Calm, patient, and reassuring personality.

Strong customer service mindset and relationship-building skills.

Ability to effectively communicate with older adults and family members.

Dependable, proactive, and able to anticipate clinician and patient needs.

Professional demeanor with a high level of emotional intelligence and empathy.

Work Environment

This position offers the opportunity to transition to a permanent role. The work environment is a clinic setting within an Assisted Living and Independent Living Community, requiring a professional demeanor and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boca Raton, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
