Description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager or Accounting Manager to support our Orange County manufacturing client. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone in finance who combines strong cost accounting knowledge with the ability to guide complex, cross-functional initiatives. The position will work closely with multiple departmentsto keep key projects on track while also providing sound accounting expertise and clear communication across teams.

Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate two active initiatives at the same time, ensuring milestones, dependencies, and deliverables remain aligned with business objectives.

Oversee the implementation progress of an accounts payable automation effort, partnering with stakeholders to support execution and issue resolution.

Support the launch and ongoing coordination of a material-to-shipping project in collaboration with IT and supply chain teams.

Apply manufacturing cost accounting knowledge to advise project decisions, including standard rate methodology and cost-related analysis.

Track timelines, priorities, and project updates using tools such as Microsoft Project, Teams, or similar planning platforms.

Prepare and deliver clear status updates and presentations for leadership and cross-functional groups.

Contribute accounting expertise in areas such as general ledger activity and month-end close as needed to support operational goals.

Report project progress, risks, and key decisions to the Controller while helping drive accountability across participating teams.

Requirements - 7+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or project-based accounting leadership roles.

Strong background in manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing and related cost analysis.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a structured and organized manner.

Experience working in positions such as Accounting Manager, Controller, or Project Manager within a manufacturing setting.

Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to groups and leadership audiences.

Proficiency with Excel and familiarity with project tracking tools such as Project, Smartsheet, or Teams.

Knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger accounting.

Experience working with D365 or similar enterprise accounting systems is preferred.
