Job Title: CompounderJob Description
The Compounder monitors and operates chemical batching, mixing, and compounding processes while applying a solid understanding of basic chemistry and plant process flow. This role focuses on accurately following standard operating procedures, troubleshooting process issues, and continuously developing skills to gain a full understanding of all plant processes and their underlying chemistry.
Responsibilities
Monitor batching, compounding, and mixing operations to ensure products meet quality and process specifications.
Apply basic chemistry knowledge to understand, monitor, and troubleshoot plant processes.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) consistently for all pre-weigh, batching, and compounding activities.
Perform pre-weigh procedures accurately to ensure correct quantities of raw materials for each batch.
Continuously upgrade skills and knowledge to fully understand the entire plant process flow and the chemistry of all plant processes.
Identify and resolve process deviations or issues in a timely manner, escalating concerns as needed.
Handle and move materials safely, including lifting up to 50 pounds to shoulder height as required.
Document process information and production data accurately in accordance with plant requirements.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to support efficient and safe plant operations.
Contribute to the production of mission-critical materials used in aerospace, defense, medical devices, and energy applications.
Essential Skills
1-5 years of experience in batching, compounding, and pre-weigh procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ability to understand and apply basic chemistry concepts related to plant processes.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height on a regular basis.
Experience working in a chemical, mixing, or compounding environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measuring, mixing, and documenting materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems is a plus.
Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environments is beneficial.
Previous exposure to chemical, mixing, or compounding operations supporting industries such as aerospace, defense, medical devices, or energy is an advantage.
Willingness to continuously learn and expand understanding of plant processes and chemistry.
Work Environment
This role operates in a chemical processing and compounding plant that produces mission-critical materials used in aerospace, defense, medical devices, and energy applications, including nuclear. The work environment involves working around batching, mixing, and compounding equipment and handling raw materials. Current shifts operate Monday through Friday with three primary schedules: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. shift is a true temporary assignment, while the other shifts are structured as temp-to-perm opportunities when appropriate. The position requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds to shoulder height and adherence to plant safety practices and procedures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
