Supply Chain Manager / Materials Manager

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM | Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead purchasing, inventory control, production planning, logistics, and materials management operations within a manufacturing environment. This position will play a critical role in ensuring materials and finished products are available to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing supply chain management, hands-on ERP experience, and proven leadership skills to manage and develop a team of buyers. Key ResponsibilitiesSupply Chain & Materials Management
Oversee purchasing, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage operations.
Develop and manage production planning and scheduling activities based on sales forecasts and customer demand.
Maintain inventory levels to support on-time customer deliveries.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the perpetual inventory system.
Coordinate closely with production teams to ensure timely availability of materials, supplies, and equipment.
Monitor and improve shipping and receiving processes for purchased components and finished goods.
Identify and implement transportation and logistics cost savings opportunities.
Manage the storage and movement of raw materials, purchased parts, and finished goods.
Perform inventory write-offs and adjustments for obsolete or damaged materials.
Lead year-end physical inventory processes and inventory valuation activities.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of purchasing professionals.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and support.
Establish accountability measures and drive continuous improvement within the department.
Handle employee relations matters in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
3+ years of supervisory or management experience within a supply chain, purchasing, or materials management function.
3-4+ years of buying or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working with ERP systems for purchasing, inventory, and materials planning.
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production scheduling, and inventory management.
Proven experience in supply chain management, purchasing, logistics, and inventory control.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading supply chain operations in a small to mid-sized manufacturing company.
Strong knowledge of inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and physical inventory processes.
Experience identifying and implementing transportation and freight cost reduction initiatives.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stony Point, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $48.08/hr.
