Job Title: Renovation Technician (Construction)
Job Description
The Renovation Technician works in a two-person team to renovate vacant apartment units, performing a mix of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC-related tasks, and drywall repairs. This role focuses on efficiently preparing apartments for new residents by completing high-quality installations, replacements, and finishes using a variety of hand and power tools.
Responsibilities
Work in a team of two to renovate vacant apartment units from start to finish.
Perform basic plumbing tasks, including removing and installing faucets and shower heads.
Complete basic electrical work, such as installing and replacing ceiling fans.
Carry out basic carpentry tasks, including installing baseboards and door casings.
Patch holes in drywall and, when needed, remove and replace sections of drywall.
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete renovation tasks.
Follow established procedures and quality standards to ensure professional finishes in all renovated units.
Maintain a clean and organized work area within each apartment and common spaces.
Inspect completed work to verify proper installation, function, and appearance.
Collaborate with your teammate to prioritize tasks and meet renovation timelines.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and use appropriate protective equipment while working.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience in construction or apartment renovation environments.
Ability to perform basic plumbing tasks such as changing faucets and shower heads.
Ability to perform basic electrical tasks, including installing ceiling fans.
Basic carpentry skills, including installing baseboards and door casings.
Experience with basic drywall work, including patching holes and replacing sections.
Proficiency using hand and power tools, including sawzall, cordless drill or impact driver, and finish nail gun.
Comfort working on a variety of tasks in occupied or unoccupied residential settings.
Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing work to a high standard.
Ability to follow safety procedures and work in compliance with site guidelines.

Work Environment
This role is based on-site in Costa Mesa, working inside vacant apartment units as part of a two-person renovation team. The environment involves regular use of hand and power tools such as sawzalls, cordless drills or impact drivers, and finish nail guns, along with materials for plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC-related tasks, and drywall repair. Work is hands-on and may involve standing, bending, and moving between units throughout the day. The setting is a residential property undergoing turnover, with an emphasis on safety, organization, and maintaining a clean workspace. Typical hours follow a standard workday schedule, with tasks focused on preparing units for new residents

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Costa Mesa, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
