Summary The position is located within the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) School Lunch Program Division, Fort Stewart, GA. Army NAF Pay setting rules apply to this vacancy. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Responsibilities Serves as a Cook in a Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Cafeteria IAW all applicable regulations and standards. Follows standard recipes and menus IAW USDA CACFP and Army policies. Meets with supervisor to coordinate feeding plans and allergies/substitutions when required. Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing, such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh, frozen and canned vegetables. Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading. Operates a variety of kitchen equipment using gas, electricity, steam or microwave heat sources. Uses and cleans a variety of cooking utensils to measure, weigh, and process food items. Cleans, stores, and maintains all equipment and work areas after each use. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). A qualified candidate must possess the following: Work experience related to the duties described above, that included skill in working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment. Additional Information Area of Consideration This job is open to candidates who are within the Local / Surrounding Commuting Area. NOTE: Local / Surrounding Commuting area defines as within 50 miles of Fort Stewart. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.) Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
