Job Title: Warehouse Lead - Shipping, Receiving & Distribution (Eyecare Products)
Job Description
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily shipping, receiving, inventory control, and distribution activities within a fast-paced eyecare manufacturing and distribution environment. This role supports the movement of optical products, including eyeglass lenses, frames, and related materials, while helping coordinate warehouse operations, maintaining inventory accuracy, and providing leadership to warehouse team members. The Warehouse Lead ensures orders are processed accurately, customer deliveries are completed on time, and warehouse operations run efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
Lead daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of eyewear products, lenses, frames, and related inventory.
Coordinate and prioritize warehouse workflow, assigning tasks and assisting team members to meet production and shipping deadlines.
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and system records.
Prepare, package, and ship customer orders while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards.
Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to management and purchasing teams.
Coordinate carrier pickups, deliveries, and shipment tracking to ensure on-time customer service.
Investigate and resolve shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics issues as they arise.
Train and support warehouse associates on shipping procedures, inventory management, safety practices, and quality standards.
Maintain accurate records and documentation within SAP or other warehouse management systems.
Ensure warehouse organization, cleanliness, and compliance with safety procedures.
Collaborate with customer service, production, and operations teams to support business objectives and customer requirements.
Essential Skills
Experience leading shipping, receiving, warehouse, or distribution operations.
Strong inventory management and inventory control experience.
Experience performing cycle counts, inventory audits, and discrepancy resolution.
Knowledge of order fulfillment, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
Familiarity with logistics coordination, carrier management, and shipment tracking.
Ability to prioritize workloads and support day-to-day warehouse operations.
Strong leadership skills with experience training or mentoring warehouse personnel.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation and inventory records.
Forklift and material handling experience preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience using SAP, WMS systems, or other inventory management software.
Prior experience in an optical, medical device, healthcare, manufacturing, or distribution environment preferred.
Understanding of quality control procedures and handling of precision products such as lenses and eyewear components.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple departments.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional logistics or supply chain experience preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Danbury, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
