ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN MAINTENANCE III
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As an Electronics Technician Maintenance III, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the DOD and DON. Candidate should be familiar and will play a crucial role in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading Surface ship Torpedo Counter Measures and Defense AN/SLQ-25 systems.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Engineering Technician III
Fabricates, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies electronic and mechanical developmental and production equipment, parts, components, and systems according to engineering instructions.
Performs complex technical functions in support of engineering activities such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical components and systems, experimental design circuitry, proto@type models or specialized test equipment.
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions.
Conducts complex engineering tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment. Records gathered test data.
Diagnoses and isolates equipment and system malfunctions which fail to respond to standard corrective measures.
Constructs/Assembles components, subunits, or simple models. Adapts standard equipment for specific troubleshooting applications.
Repairs or modifies cables and equipment returned by operational users or by personnel in the associated test and development laboratories.
May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Specific responsibilities include
Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic and mechanical equipment to the component level.
Generating Test and Inspection Reports to document testing, troubleshooting, and repair actions.
Reviewing and commenting on system test procedures.
Education and Experience
Associate's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.
Three to Five years of related experience fabricating, maintaining and repairing electronic components. Component-level troubleshooting and repair preferred.
Military experience desired, but not required.
Skills and Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the fabrication, testing, and modification of electro-mechanical components.
Knowledge of and ability to use the related tools, equipment, and systems.
Effective organizational skills.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Must be able to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
Must be able to follow detailed troubleshooting instructions.
Must be able to work independently and with others.
Must be able to work onboard ships in industrial environments, as required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, squat, and reach for warehoused material.
Candidate must be able to wear safety hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and other Personal Protective Equipment as required.
This position requires occasional travel, approximately one week per month, both CONUS and OCONUS.
Secret Security Clearance required

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $30.88 - $40.25. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
