This role supports a growing wellness and aesthetics practice as a key member of the clinical team, providing hands-on assistance with aesthetic treatments, injectable procedures, wellness services, and patient education while ensuring an exceptional, concierge-style patient experience. The Certified Medical Assistant works closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and injectors to deliver safe, high-quality care, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and support both front and back office operations in a fast-paced medical spa environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare patients for aesthetic and wellness consultations and treatments, ensuring they feel informed, comfortable, and ready for procedures.
Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and injectors during aesthetic and wellness procedures, including injectable and non-surgical treatments.
Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, collect medical history, and accurately update electronic medical records (EMRs).
Support injectable procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, PRP, and other non-surgical aesthetic treatments by preparing supplies, assisting during injections, and documenting treatments.
Assist with wellness services including weight management programs, hormone therapy, peptide therapy, and vitamin injections.
Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing as needed, following clinical protocols and safety standards.
Maintain accurate and complete patient records and treatment documentation in EMR/EHR systems.
Provide exceptional customer service throughout the patient journey, from initial contact through follow-up care.
Educate patients on pre- and post-treatment instructions, ensuring they understand how to prepare for and care for themselves after procedures.
Answer patient questions regarding procedures, skincare products, wellness services, and follow-up care in a clear and professional manner.
Schedule appointments, coordinate treatment plans, and help organize patient visits to optimize the patient experience and provider schedules.
Assist with patient retention and follow-up initiatives, including reminder calls, follow-up check-ins, and support for ongoing treatment plans.
Maintain treatment rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies in a clean, organized, and ready-to-use condition.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety protocols in all clinical and administrative activities.
Manage inventory of injectables, medical supplies, skincare products, and wellness treatments, including monitoring stock levels and reporting needs.
Support front-office operations when needed, including patient check-in and check-out, phone support, and general administrative tasks.
Contribute to a professional, welcoming, and spa-like environment that reflects a high standard of care and service.
Engage in long-term professional development, with the potential to grow into practice management responsibilities over time.
Essential Skills
Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of medical assistant experience.
Experience in aesthetics, dermatology, plastic surgery, IV therapy, med spa, and/or wellness settings.
Knowledge of Botox, dermal fillers, PRP, laser treatments, and skincare products.
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and accurate electronic documentation.
Strong patient care skills, including patient intake, vital signs, and medical history collection.
Phlebotomy experience, including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
Experience with injections in a clinical or aesthetic setting.
Solid understanding of medical terminology relevant to aesthetics and wellness.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working closely with patients and providers.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism.
Ability to schedule appointments and coordinate patient treatment plans effectively.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, concierge-style medical spa environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Demonstrated passion for health, wellness, and aesthetics.

Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite in a concierge aesthetics medical spa, providing personalized, appointment-based care in a small, intimate setting where you work closely 1:1 with a physician. The practice operates by appointment only, creating a focused and calm environment that allows for high-touch, individualized patient experiences. During the summer slow season, the schedule typically includes 2 in-office clinical days and 1 office/clerical day, totaling approximately 16-24 hours per week. During the winter season, the schedule generally increases to 4 in-office clinical days and 1 office/clerical day, totaling approximately 32-40 hours per week. The environment combines a spa-like atmosphere with a clinical setting, using medical-grade equipment, injectables, skincare products, and wellness therapies, and emphasizes professionalism, cleanliness, and adherence to safety and privacy standards.
