Senior Accountant / Senior AP Specialist (AP Processor)

Pay Rate Range:

$43-$48/hr

Position Overview:

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support cutting-edge research and innovative operations in the Life Sciences and Clinical Diagnostics sector. As a Senior Accountant / Senior AP Specialist, you will play a key role in AP and GL accounting, financial audits, SOX compliance, and month-end close processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Process AP invoices, checks, wires/ACH, focusing on accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness

Collaborate with department heads, purchasing, and receiving teams for approvals

Manage vendor relationships: monitor payments and resolve open issues

Prepare/review AP accruals, prepaid amortization, fixed assets depreciation, deferred rent, and reconciliations

Assist in month-end close, account reconciliation, journal entries, SOX compliance, and financial audits

Ensure timely 1099 filings

Guide Accountant/Staff Accountant on AP processing and accounting questions

Identify and implement process improvements; participate in ERP system upgrades

Support team with other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or finance

CPA or CPA candidate preferred

5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing

Proficiency with Excel (vlookup, if functions, pivot tables, etc.)

Hands-on GL experience

Strong communication and analytical skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

Experience with Expandable ERP systems a plus
