Job Description
The Warehouse Worker plays a key role in ensuring that materials and products move efficiently through the facility. This position focuses on receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, organizing and storing materials safely, preparing orders for delivery or pickup, and maintaining accurate inventory records. You will operate material handling equipment, help keep the warehouse clean and safe, and collaborate closely with supervisors and colleagues to support smooth day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
Receive incoming shipments of raw materials and supplies, inspect them for quality and quantity, and verify accuracy against accompanying paperwork.
Store and organize materials in the warehouse according to established procedures and safety regulations.
Load and unload trucks and other vehicles, including operating forklifts and other powered equipment; training may be provided as needed.
Prepare orders for delivery or pickup by accurately picking, packing, wrapping, and labeling products.
Maintain inventory accuracy through regular physical counts and by using inventory management systems, including handheld scanners when applicable.
Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards while adhering to all safety and hygiene regulations.
Safely maintain and operate warehouse equipment in accordance with company procedures.
Identify and report any damaged or missing goods to supervisors promptly.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues, and ensure smooth operations.
Potentially assist in the training of new warehouse employees by sharing knowledge of procedures, equipment operation, and safety practices.
Wear required personal protective equipment at all times while in designated areas.
Repeatedly lift items weighing up to 30 pounds throughout the workday.
Stand for approximately 75% of the workday and frequently bend, extend, stoop, stretch, twist, and reach as needed to perform job duties.
Work safely around moving equipment, keeping hands and body away from all moving parts at all times.
Essential Skills
Experience with forklift operation, including sit-down forklifts, with at least 6 months of forklift operating experience.
Hands-on experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving products and raw materials.
Practical skills in picking, packing, and general labor tasks within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Ability to perform shipping and receiving activities, including verifying documentation and inspecting goods.
High attention to detail when checking shipments, labeling products, and maintaining inventory records.
Strong language skills with the ability to communicate clearly with line management and other plant employees.
Working knowledge of elementary math to verify correct bag weights and quantities.
Ability to read and understand procedures and instructions related to operating equipment and handling materials.
Reasoning ability to follow correct procedures, detect incorrect bag weights and seals, and respond appropriately to issues.
Good visual acuity to note adequate bag sealing and bag weight.
Ability to repeatedly lift up to 30 pounds and stand for approximately 75% of the workday.
Physical ability to frequently bend, extend, stoop, stretch, twist, and reach during normal work activities.
Ability to work safely around moving equipment and maintain awareness of surroundings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience using inventory management systems and handheld scanners to track and record stock movements.
Previous work experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
Comfort with operating various @types of powered warehouse equipment, with willingness to complete training as required.
Strong commitment to following safety and hygiene regulations in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to support consistent production and shipping schedules.
Willingness to assist with training new team members and share best practices.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing warehouse environment where you work around moving equipment and active production areas. The facility can have a high level of dust at times and operates in a high ambient temperature environment without air conditioning, so you should be comfortable working in these conditions. You will spend a significant portion of the day standing, lifting up to 30 pounds, and performing frequent bending, stretching, and twisting motions. Personal protective equipment is required and must be worn as directed. The environment emphasizes safety, proper equipment operation, and adherence to established procedures to ensure the well-being of everyone on site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lester Prairie, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
