Associate Manufacturing Excellence Lead - Saxonburg, Pa

PURPOSE

The Manufacturing Excellence Lead is an experienced, hands-on contributor responsible for designing, leading, and sustaining continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement across the Pittsburgh site and broader network. This role drives the implementation and long-term sustainment of the Product Supply System, leveraging digital and AI-enabled tools to improve visibility, accelerate problem-solving, and strengthen fact-based decision-making on the shop floor. This position partners with leaders at all levels to strengthen a culture of continuous improvement by coaching teams, supporting change management, and building capability across Manufacturing operations.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Lead / Support implementation of Product Supply System across the Pittsburgh site;

Enable Asset Ownership (AO):

Develop capability of operators & build a culture to enable zero loss & 100% ownership;

Implement Run on Standard (RoS) tools & processes;

Support development and use of equipment standards & base conditions (CIL, Centerlines, etc.);

Partner with Production, Maintenance, and the PM Pillar to strengthen equipment reliability;

Develop and implement tools to identify loss and drive corrective actions:

Facilitate value stream mapping of mfg. operations to identify and improve efficiency across the value chain;

Lead/support Gemba & 5S implementation across the site;

Perform Process Confirmation with all levels of leadership to verify correct and effective execution of standards;

Lead and coach team members in using structured problem-solving tools, including A3 methodology, to eliminate losses and improve performance;

Develop/Support implementation of digital tools including AI to identify & eliminate losses across the operations;

Support training and onboarding of leaders and operators into daily ways of working;

Lead/support change management activities related to continuous improvement across the site;

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma degree in engineering, science or a relevant field, or equivalent experience in lieu of an educational degree;

Minimum of 3 years' experience in frontline leadership roles in manufacturing;

Experience with automated manufacturing, assembly, or packaging environments/

Experience working with digital manufacturing systems and documentation platforms is required (e.g., DOP, eDHR)/

Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively across all organizational levels/

Comfort operating in ambiguity and leading through change in a matrixed environment/

Ability to work effectively in a regulated (GxP) environment/

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or a relevant field;

Experience in Medical Device manufacturing.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $86,320.00 to $129,480.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..

This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
