Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Incumbent is an Acquisition Management Specialist for acquisition and contract administration. Determines the acquisition strategy for organization using procurement methods. Located in Chicago, IL. Responsibilities Coordinate and manage command acquisition requirements by facilitating, developing, and overseeing the full lifecycle of service, supply, and construction needs that lead to procurement actions. Analyze acquisition data using established data collection techniques to identify trends, recommend improvements to operating procedures, and provide informed advice to leadership. Prepare acquisition reports and documentation by extracting and reviewing data to support requirement management, procurement oversight, and administrative tracking. Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to support transparent communication, effective coordination with acquisition authorities, and collaboration across command organizations. This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
