Short Description
THIS POSITION HAS FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
POSITION SUMMARY:
The shipping/warehouse lead is responsible for ensuring that the shipping department is being maintained and product is being processed according to customer specifications. The shipping lead is responsible for ensuring that shipping associates maintain a clean, neat and orderly warehouse and that all forklifts are being properly maintained.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the shipping manager with regard to the scheduling of shipping associates
Oversee the proper processing of product packaging and storage
Knowledge of proper loading procedures and ability to assist when needed
Maintain communication with shipping manager and production supervisors
MANAGERIAL / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises associates in the shipping department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include helping to plan, assign and direct the work force. Ensure that all orders are billed and shipped correctly.
Will notify Shipping Manager of any personnel problems.
Will give feedback to department associates concerning their responsibilities to safety and quality.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Previous experience in the shipping/warehouse department
Trained and certified fork lift operator
Excellent attendance
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Ability to schedule department associates for efficient operation
Knowledge of proper packaging and placement in warehouse
KEY BEHAVIORAL TRAITS FOR SUCCESS
Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge and use of proper PPE when required
