How you'll make an impact in this role

Translate complex patient charts into precise diagnostic and procedural codes, ensuring patient care journeys are accurately documented for seamless claim processing and document retrieval.

Collaborate directly with providers to clarify ambiguous or incomplete documentation, ensuring every clinical story is told with absolute accuracy and integrity.

Conduct clinical chart audits and lead collaborative educational sessions for physicians and staff to elevate our documentation standards and coding accuracy.

Maintain high-quality benchmarks for coding productivity and accuracy, directly supporting the financial health and operational success of our care facilities.

Uphold ethical coding standards by strictly aligning all workflows with official industry guidelines and keeping ahead of shifting reimbursement requirements.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

One or more of the following:

Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information ManagementAssociation (AHIMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed from the American Academy of Professional Coders(AAPC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Coder obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Reg Health Info Admnstr credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association(AHIMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Reg Health Info Tech credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association(AHIMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
