Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting and supporting quality initiatives at the Chicago Heights facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain all electrical and electronic equipment in a steel mill environment.

Experience and Capable of working with 230/460/600 volt AC & 250 DC mill controls and overhead cranes.

Ability to read, analyze, interpret and perform work from schematics, technical specifications, drawings and sketches. Experience with PLC systems and variable frequency drives (VFD) a plus.

Shift work, weekends, call-outs and overtime a must.

Perform any and all other duties as directed by supervisor or management representative within safety guidelines.

Performs work in accordance with the defined Quality system and share responsibility for Quality.

The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Completion of electrician course, Associate Degree, or equivalent experience is required. At least 3- 5 years of hands-on commercial or industrial electrical experience.

Skills Required: Ability to troubleshoot controls and electrical systems with amp meters, voltmeters, tracers, and recording devices. Complete daily work orders as assigned and update team with daily work reports outlining progress and new issues.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess a valid driver's license for business travel, such as, customer visits, to attend required meetings, seminars, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Frequently enters and works in manufacturing of Plant where noise level is high.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
